# Goldwell Open Air Museum - Steve and Patrick - YouTube
[00:00:06] **Howard:** [00:00:00] Hey, everybody, this is Howard Fox, host of the Outdoor Adventure Series podcast, and I am here in Rhyolite. it is a ghost town here in, I guess it'd be southern Nevada still. Yeah. Cl- close to central Nevada. Yeah, southern Nevada.
It's a big state. And I'm at the Goldwell Open Air Museum,
I have the pleasure of introducing you to Steve Dudrow. Steve is from Mesquite, Nevada. And, we're gonna talk a little bit, with Steve about some of his work and what brought him up to, the museum today and to Beatty. And I have the pleasure of introducing you to, Patrick Taylor.
He is a, resident of Beatty. He is on the board, and he's a volunteer here at the, Goldwell Open Air Museum. So gentlemen, welcome to, the podcast.
[00:00:57] **Steve:** Thank you for driving up, Howard. Thanks. Thanks for having us.
[00:00:59] **Howard:** [00:01:00] And you picked a great day. Now, we originally, we had hoped to put this outside and you get a little bit of the background.
I guess I'll have to take some photos of this. the, Goldwell Open Air Museum is really a phenomenal museum, and we're gonna have back links in the show notes so we can share with you why it's so unique. But, a little background, Beatty is about, I don't know, what would you say, Steve, about an hour and a half, maybe two hours north of Las Vegas.
Yeah. A little less for you 'cause you're in Mesquite. I
[00:01:29] **Steve:** gotta come all the way to Vegas.
[00:01:31] **Howard:** Well, true. You gotta go to
[00:01:33] **Patrick:** Vegas then.
[00:01:33] **Steve:** Yeah,
[00:01:34] **Howard:** it's about an hour and a
[00:01:36] **Patrick:** half to two hours. Okay. And, Depending on how fast you go ... it's, it,
[00:01:37] **Howard:** it's a, it's a beautiful drive. It is. You have to be paying attention 'cause there's a lot of, big semis.
But it's just a beautiful place. It's very unique because just outside of Beatty, about four or five miles, is the Rhyolite Ghost Town, which is very well known. The turn of the last century, this vibrant community was here, and then all of a sudden it was gone. And remnants [00:02:00] of the buildings are still here, and a lot of folks, artists like, like Steve, like, like Patrick, like Steve, come up here, take photos, do paintings, drawings.
And folks like me come up here and do some dark sky photography using the, the relics of the buildings in, in, in, either in the foreground and then hopefully, if you get it right, the,the Milky Way in the background. But, just a phenomenal place. We're gonna have back links to, y- to the museum, to Steve's website, and Patrick, your websites.
And Patrick was just showing us some of his work as well. Pretty phenomenal. But Steve- Wow ... Steve, you, you-
[00:02:36] **Steve:** Patrick's work, huh?
[00:02:37] **Howard:** Yeah. Patrick's work. Am I messing this one up? No.
[00:02:41] **Steve:** No. I'm just saying, I'm just giving a wow though.
[00:02:43] **Howard:** You're
[00:02:43] **Steve:** just- I, I'm just seeing this today too. Thank you. Thank you. This is my first time.
This
[00:02:46] **Howard:** is your first time? Yes. Okay. Ex- excellent. This is the beauty. We're not even gonna edit this out. first off, I gotta ask, you're holding some books- books there, my friend. What are you holding?
[00:02:55] **Steve:** Okay. These are my two books that I've recently done, and they kind of, [00:03:00] they, they come from podcasting-
[00:03:02] **Howard:** Okay
[00:03:03] **Steve:** and, being a photographer, a night sky photographer, and from being out, in the Mojave, in the Mojave Desert.
[00:03:10] **Howard:** Excellent.
[00:03:10] **Steve:** There's just a lot to see there.
[00:03:12] **Howard:** There, there is, and the desert is a wonderful place. Have you always been in, had a, a passion for art, i- 'cause I, as I've gotten to know you really like a year ago when we met at, Aviquame, there was a, a dark sky event.
They had some presentations at Aviquame, which is, one of the US's newest, national monuments. We'll provide a back link to it. But h- have you always been a, a, a pa- an artist, had, or have had a passion for art?
[00:03:40] **Steve:** No, but first let me say, that was a fun night when I met you down there.
[00:03:44] **Howard:** That was fun.
[00:03:44] **Steve:** So that was really good.
We, we got to see a lot of dark sky. So no, I haven't. And, it's actually in my book, my first book, The Art of Noticing, is kind of, it's kind of musings of me over the last, five or 10 years or so. [00:04:00] So I didn't think about art at all. I, I was a photographer. Is a photographer an artist?
[00:04:05] **Howard:** Yes, I think so.
[00:04:05] **Steve:** Well, I didn't think so. And I started, one of my hiking friends told me, "Oh, you gotta put your art in a, in an exhibit." And I'm like, "What? No, I'm not a- That's art. I don't do art." Well, she convinced me very strongly, and I put it in, and I didn't win. Okay. But from that point on- But you put it in ... and then her and I would go on these hikes, for Friends of Gold Butte, and we would talk about art, more curiosity than anything else.
So that's kind of where this book comes from-
[00:04:37] **Howard:** Okay ...
[00:04:37] **Steve:** is, is talking with her, and she talked me into being an artist. And then, then the podcast, as you well know, we, we learn as we podcast. We don't... Maybe you did, but I didn't know anything when I started, so.
[00:04:51] **Howard:** I, I've got a question for you. Well, actually it's ask Patrick.
Are podcasters journalists? They'd have to be Thank you.
[00:04:59] **Steve:** [00:05:00] They'd have to be. Oh, thank you.
[00:05:00] **Howard:** All right. You're
[00:05:01] **Patrick:** journaling someone's story.
[00:05:02] **Howard:** That's good. Thank you. All right.
[00:05:04] **Steve:** He's just saying that because we're, we're out, we outnumber him.
[00:05:08] **Howard:** That's true. That's true.
[00:05:09] **Patrick:** You're lead- it's like a piece of art. You're leading someone's story so that someone can follow it and get a more of an understanding- Mm-hmm ... of their life. Right. Just like a piece of art, you're leading someone's eye into your vision.
[00:05:20] **Steve:** Mm-hmm. I like
[00:05:21] **Howard:** that.
[00:05:22] **Steve:** And, and this is kind of where my book goes, that we lead.
[00:05:25] **Patrick:** Mm-hmm.
[00:05:26] **Steve:** But I think I was doing too much leading.
[00:05:28] **Howard:** Okay.
[00:05:28] **Steve:** Okay? if they were quiet for a second, I have my list of questions. I don't know how much you've prepared, but I prepare. So if they stop, I'm there with another question.
[00:05:40] **Howard:** Ah.
[00:05:40] **Steve:** Well, that's not... A- and I talk about it in this book.
[00:05:43] **Howard:** Okay.
[00:05:44] **Steve:** Most of the time they have something else to say.
[00:05:46] **Howard:** Right.
[00:05:47] **Steve:** So with us just blabbering in and cutting in and t- asking them the next question, it may be way off from what you just talked about.
[00:05:56] **Howard:** Right.
[00:05:56] **Steve:** I think it, it, it's, it doesn't lead [00:06:00] as, it, it, it doesn't lead to their story, th- because they're holding their story. Oh.
[00:06:04] **Howard:** And I, I love what you're sharing. My day job is I am a coach, and in coach training we, we talk about holding space for our clients.
And I think as, as, as podcasters, as artists, in our own way we're holding space for the individual, for the subject, for the scenery so that we can gather some insights, perhaps some meaning, and maybe ask a question, because you're curious, not because we have to fill the space. Mm. And I think that was one of the first lessons I learned is, as a coach, and, and I think in taking it into podcasting, is just hold si- be silent and, wait, wait for the guest, wait for the client.
But if you have to, be curious.
[00:06:56] **Steve:** Yes. I wouldn't have had to write this book had I talked with you before- ... [00:07:00] I started podcasting, 'cause I would've h- I like that, holding space.
[00:07:04] **Howard:** Yeah.
[00:07:05] **Patrick:** A lot of times with my art, I want the, I want the image to speak for itself. I don't want to use a lot of words to explain it.
If you have to, the image isn't doing what it's supposed to.
[00:07:15] **Howard:** Okay.
[00:07:15] **Patrick:** So I, I like the image to speak for itself and to have it tell the story. Okay.
[00:07:20] **Howard:** as before we got started here, we were outside ho- just having a, a, a chat, and you shared a little bit about your background, which I'll leave it to you to share if you want.
Mm-hmm. But had you always ha- had art have... Has it always been a part of your life and the work that you have been doing?
[00:07:38] **Patrick:** Professionally, no. I was a marine and a police officer. But I did do art as a, as a kid. I drew, I made things. I was into Native American, making different things. but I only did it just for my own self.
Mm-hmm. I got into a career and it, it just [00:08:00] became, it became physical, what you do as a police officer and as a Marine, your training. But I got hurt early. One year on the police department, I, our, Marine unit got activated for Desert Storm.
[00:08:13] **Steve:** Mm.
[00:08:13] **Patrick:** And we went to Camp Pendleton to train, and on the beach there, an instructor did a karate move, and, he pile dragged me onto my head, and r- Wow
my, my entire spine compressed.
[00:08:25] **Howard:** Okay.
[00:08:25] **Patrick:** And I ended up having 13 spine surgeries from that injury.
[00:08:29] **Howard:** Oh, my God.
[00:08:30] **Patrick:** But being laid up in the hospital and at home so much, I started drawing- Okay ... for therapy. And from that, all this art has come into my life, and it's where I would tell veterans at the hospital where doors close, others can open up when we allow them to.
[00:08:45] **Howard:** Mm-hmm.
[00:08:45] **Patrick:** Because for years, you get that bitterness of an injury. You feel like your life is ruined. What am I gonna do now? How am I gonna support my family? Mm-hmm. But then you start seeing things differently, and your talents [00:09:00] start developing where they hadn't before-
[00:09:02] **Howard:** Mm-hmm ...
[00:09:03] **Patrick:** and your life can change.
And that's, that's what's happened in mine is-
[00:09:08] **Howard:** I love it ...
[00:09:08] **Patrick:** is this art has truly filled- A place that was e- you just talk about these spaces.
[00:09:15] **Howard:** Mm-hmm.
[00:09:15] **Patrick:** This art has filled that space in me where it was empty because I didn't know what I was gonna do.
[00:09:22] **Howard:** Okay. Okay.
[00:09:23] **Patrick:** And now I, I have this passion, and it's, it's what I wanna do.
I wanna create. Okay. And that's where I get therapy from, is being able to take this pain and put it into something else. 'Cause when I'm focused on what I'm doing in front of me, I forget what's happening back here. Mm-hmm. So I put all of this into what I'm doing.
[00:09:46] **Howard:** Excellent. How did you get into the art space?
I mean, i- in Mesquite, you're part of the, the Mesquite, Arts Council. you, you've got the, the STEM Center. And how did you, enter [00:10:00] this, that part of the journey?
[00:10:01] **Steve:** It was when I, when my friend talked to me on a hike and said to enter, enter my photograph in a- There you go ... in an art contest. Yeah, 'cause otherwise I was, not.
So she said that, and then from then on we talked. C- curiosity is, like, the best word in the English language.
[00:10:18] **Howard:** Right.
[00:10:19] **Steve:** We all have that curiosity. Mm-hmm.
[00:10:20] **Howard:** Mm-hmm. I
[00:10:21] **Steve:** think that's really important, and that helps us. It, art comes from curiosity.
[00:10:26] **Howard:** Sure. W- what have you learned about yourself and... Let's just st- Let's just stop with that.
What have you learned about yourself as a result of stepping into this, this, sandbox landscape and being able to explore and be curious? What have you learned?
[00:10:44] **Steve:** first off, the people.
[00:10:45] **Howard:** Okay.
[00:10:46] **Steve:** Okay? You, Patrick, all, everybody I meet. I've had over 400 guests on my podcast. Mm-hmm. I just love talking to people.
Mm-hmm. And while I still like photography, I've come to think that my art is talking to artists, [00:11:00] so, and finding their stories. Mm-hmm. And allowing them space to tell their stories.
[00:11:05] **Howard:** Okay.
[00:11:05] **Patrick:** I like that.
[00:11:06] **Howard:** For our listeners, what is the name of the podcast?
[00:11:08] **Steve:** Called The Art Box.
[00:11:10] **Howard:** The Art Box Podcast. And, w- if listeners wanna learn m- more about it and subscribe to it, where are they gonna go?
[00:11:17] **Steve:** they'll go to our website, which is theartboxpodcast.com.
[00:11:21] **Howard:** artboxpodcast.com. By the way, he's got a great, visuals for the podcast. I have a logo. Steve's is incredibly creative, but again, we're, we're gonna share that w- in our show mo- notes for today. When you think about your, the, the interviews, some, close to 500 interview, that's, a lot of people.
That's a lot. Most podcasts, I, well, I think I, there's a statistic out there, 75% of podcasts fail before you get to, say, like, the 12th episode. So 500, that's, I think that's commitment Wow. I think I'm somewhere in that vicinity. I [00:12:00]
[00:12:00] **Steve:** was gonna say, you and I are, we're beating the
[00:12:02] **Howard:** odds, aren't we? The, I think we are.
Yes we are. Because there's something about it that we enjoy. Is there- Mm. like right now we're h- we're here in the desert. literally eight, 10 miles to our west is, is the, an entrance to Death Valley, National Park, which I've taken before. Four miles down the road is Beatty. But the desert landscape is just wonderful, and it's just there's, there's something new around every corner.
Is there something about the desert and just, the, whether it's the shrubbery, the, the architecture, the, the, the ruins. Is there something about it that really just, kind of tugs at your heart?
[00:12:42] **Steve:** Well, Howard, I'll, I'll go back to my time as artist in residence at Mystery Ranch, which is in the Anza-Borrego National Monument.
[00:12:50] **Howard:** Mm-hmm.
[00:12:50] **Steve:** And I'm a night sky photographer.
[00:12:52] **Howard:** Yes.
[00:12:52] **Steve:** So I don't want anything to do with the daytime.
[00:12:55] **Howard:** Okay.
[00:12:55] **Steve:** All right? Yeah. 'Cause it's too darn hot out there.
[00:12:57] **Howard:** Yes, it is.
[00:12:57] **Steve:** Otherwise, at Mystery Ranch, there's [00:13:00] no air conditioning. so I had to do something during the day. So I, when you look out, w- we're looking out over to the Mojave now, what do we see?
We see heat. So- See it rising up. See it rising, but when you, when you walk out there and you look underneath a bush, that's a little microclimate-
[00:13:17] **Patrick:** Yeah ...
[00:13:17] **Steve:** underneath there. When you pick up a rock- There's life ... there's a microclimate. There's all kinds of things happening there. There's life. Mm-hmm. So there's millions.
As we look out the window now, there's millions of little microclimates that are, people are want people. bugs, they're, they're just as happy as can be.
[00:13:33] **Howard:** They're going about just doing, doing what they do. They're doing their thing, yeah. Doing what they do.
[00:13:37] **Steve:** So that's, that's where I, I... A- and that became noticing.
You've gotta notice that.
[00:13:42] **Howard:** Okay.
[00:13:42] **Steve:** Mm. And we can look out there and just see what we see, but if we look deeper.
[00:13:47] **Howard:** Which I love about the book, you just have to, the art of noticing. And just, y- you have to stop, slow down. You have to be present. Be present. You
[00:13:57] **Patrick:** need to be present.
[00:13:58] **Howard:** Be in the moment, [00:14:00] listen, breathe, smell-
[00:14:01] **Patrick:** Mm-hmm
[00:14:02] **Howard:** and observe.
[00:14:03] **Patrick:** All your senses.
[00:14:04] **Howard:** All the senses.
[00:14:05] **Patrick:** That's what's being in... When you're, when you're like that and you're in nature, that's, that's naturally healing . And for myself, someone with, with injuries and pain, being out here has tr- has truly, helped me to do more than I have my, my entire life. Sure.
I'm doing-
[00:14:23] **Howard:** How did you end up out here?
[00:14:25] **Patrick:** I was in Vegas. I wanted to get out of town, and I came to Beatty for a few days, and I started drawing.
[00:14:31] **Howard:** Mm-hmm.
[00:14:31] **Patrick:** Went back to Vegas, came back, drew some more, and I'm like, "Something's,
[00:14:37] **Howard:** mm,
[00:14:38] **Patrick:** inspiring you out here."
[00:14:39] **Howard:** Yeah.
[00:14:40] **Patrick:** So I got rid of my apartment, bought a truck and RV, and I moved up here, and that's when I immediately got involved with the, the museum out here.
[00:14:48] **Howard:** Mm-hmm.
[00:14:48] **Patrick:** I came out here with my dog and I was beading some moccasins, and came in here and there were three people. There was the founder of the, the Goldwell Open Air Museum, Susan [00:15:00] Morgan; Richard Stevens, who was the volunteer out here. He's been in, in Beatty for 48 years.
[00:15:04] **Howard:** Mm-hmm.
[00:15:05] **Patrick:** and the new president, Michelle Graves.
[00:15:07] **Howard:** Mm-hmm.
[00:15:08] **Patrick:** And I started talking to them. I said, "Hey, I'm thinking about moving out here. Do you guys need any help?" And at the time they did, and, it was just, It was just something that was supposed to be, and it's turned into now being here for two years. But, what I saw was all this color out here.
[00:15:25] **Howard:** Mm-hmm.
[00:15:25] **Patrick:** The vividness out in this landscape. Because it's so open, you can see... For myself, I, as an artist, I use Fibonacci in a lot of work, but I see that out there in the landscape. But it's this color that's so beautiful and vivid and bright. the night skies, man, when you get away from the light pollution, the stars are just amazing.
[00:15:49] **Howard:** Th- that was what I was just blown away-
[00:15:52] **Patrick:** Yeah ...
[00:15:52] **Howard:** by the, the stars.
[00:15:54] **Patrick:** The beauty out here.
[00:15:54] **Howard:** And, a new moon. Th- this, this literally is the place to be.
[00:15:59] **Patrick:** Yeah. [00:16:00]
[00:16:00] **Howard:** It's the place to be. Now, how involved are you in, in, in the Beatty community?
[00:16:06] **Patrick:** I'm on their, I got on their Beatty Chamber of Commerce.
Chamber
[00:16:08] **Howard:** of Commerce,
[00:16:09] **Patrick:** okay. I'm also at the Beatty Museum. I'm on their board. And
[00:16:12] **Howard:** I- I've been wanting to visit there,
[00:16:14] **Patrick:** I volunteer on there on Mondays. All
[00:16:15] **Howard:** right.
[00:16:16] **Patrick:** but I, I love the history. Mm-hmm. It's just all this history, and I'm kind of absorbing myself into that, and the people are amazing.
when you're in these little communities, you gotta watch out for one another.
[00:16:27] **Howard:** Yeah.
[00:16:27] **Patrick:** And the people do. They take care of one another, and that's, that's a beautiful thing to see.
[00:16:31] **Howard:** I love it. I love it. So why are you out here today?
[00:16:36] **Steve:** I am out here to help them, cut bottles. Is that what we're doing?
Yep. We're cutting bottles.
[00:16:41] **Patrick:** Okay.
[00:16:41] **Steve:** And there's- The bottle
[00:16:42] **Patrick:** couch.
[00:16:42] **Steve:** Yeah, bo- there's a bottle couch. And you can see the bottle couch out there, but now they're gonna expand it, like the old bottle couch that used to be back there, replacing that. Mm-hmm. Okay. So we're gonna cut bottles. I hope I'm not gonna cut my hand off or anything.
But I think Michelle and Zoe will take care of me for that.
[00:16:57] **Howard:** Th- they're- Yeah ... they're professionals. Now, there i- [00:17:00] Yeah ... w- when I heard about the, the bottle house, or the bottle couch, I r- was... I knew there's a, there's a, there is a bottle house here.
[00:17:09] **Patrick:** Yes.
[00:17:10] **Howard:** And when you said, "We're gonna build a couch," I was thinking, "You're gonna put a couch in the house?"
But it's for the museum. what is... You have a lot of visitors coming in to this museum. Mm-hmm. Do you have a sense of, they're coming to see Rhyolite, no doubt, but when they come in here, what, what do you think their aha moment is, like, "Oh my God, look at this. I didn't expect this"?
[00:17:35] **Patrick:** I would have to say that, that the energy that's here that has allowed all these artists from all over the world to come and create.
[00:17:42] **Howard:** Mm-hmm.
[00:17:43] **Patrick:** And the people that come here sense and feel that. These people that create this in town in seven years felt an energy here, and it caused them to, to move and to do something incredible in such a short amount of time. And again, you have [00:18:00] artists that, that for, with that same idea, that energy that caused them to create.
And I think that's what people get out here is they, they feel something.
[00:18:11] **Howard:** Mm-hmm.
[00:18:12] **Patrick:** And that's why you have to get out in nature. You gotta feel it. You gotta absorb it. And, and people get that. They'll, they'll be say, "Oh, I'm getting goosebumps." Like, yeah, no. Yeah. I
[00:18:21] **Howard:** love it.
[00:18:21] **Patrick:** It's real. It's real.
[00:18:23] **Steve:** Well, you've had visitors today from, that I've talked to-
[00:18:26] **Patrick:** Yeah, England
[00:18:26] **Steve:** and-
from UK and then from- France ... from Paris.
[00:18:29] **Patrick:** Yeah.
[00:18:29] **Howard:** Wonderful.
[00:18:30] **Patrick:** Yeah.
[00:18:31] **Howard:** What do you feel when you're, when you're out here?
[00:18:34] **Steve:** joy.
[00:18:35] **Howard:** Joy? Yeah.
[00:18:36] **Steve:** Yeah. Peace. Yeah, it's just peace.
[00:18:37] **Howard:** Yeah.
[00:18:38] **Steve:** Yeah, it's just nice out here, and there's quiet.
[00:18:41] **Howard:** Yeah. And you're actually going to be helping to create art that is gonna be, have a life out here too.
[00:18:47] **Steve:** Yeah, you know what? Thanks for reminding me of that. I was just thinking I was gonna cut bottles, but you're right. It's gonna be out here. After I'm gone, it's still gonna be here. Exactly. So I'll have something here.
[00:18:57] **Howard:** Excellent.
[00:18:58] **Steve:** Yeah. Thank you for reminding me of that, Howard. Yes. I didn't [00:19:00] even think about that.
[00:19:00] **Howard:** My, it's my pleasure. Yes. It's my pleasure.
[00:19:03] **Patrick:** Well, your work, the work that you do, these, these podcasts and videos that you put out, do that also. when we're gone, those things will still be viewed and seen, and those stories will still be told. And we're trying to tell people's stories. We're trying to tell Albert's story and the other friends that he had that have come over.
[00:19:21] **Howard:** Mm-hmm.
[00:19:21] **Patrick:** We're telling people's story through art, through, through word.
[00:19:26] **Howard:** Through words. Yeah. Yeah. Love it. Patrick, if listeners would like to learn more about you and your art, are there any places you would w- direct them to go, or is it just right now just this
[00:19:40] **Patrick:** place? Right now, I don't have a website or anything.
It's- Okay ... I'm out here and-
[00:19:44] **Howard:** Just come out
[00:19:44] **Patrick:** to the museum ... people come out, come out to Goldwell and, and experience it. Be present. And that's where the energy is.
[00:19:52] **Howard:** All right. By the way, when I was out here last, I don't recall seeing the Goldwell Open Air Museum T-shirts. Folks, [00:20:00] they have merch here. And I do see they have double XL.
I hope I fit double XL. I might have to try one on. But,yeah, come on out here, have a conversation with Patrick, see some of his artwork. You wanna quickly show something?
[00:20:14] **Patrick:** Sure.
[00:20:14] **Howard:** Yeah, just-
[00:20:14] **Patrick:** let's see. The one I just finished. Yeah. I'll show this one.
[00:20:24] **Howard:** By the way, I- This
[00:20:25] **Patrick:** is a charcoal drawing I just finished yesterday ... I,
[00:20:27] **Howard:** I have been looking at that, by the way. I love the, the swirl.
[00:20:32] **Patrick:** Yeah.
[00:20:32] **Howard:** And, it, it's like the, What do you call the-
[00:20:35] **Patrick:** It's the me- medicine wheel ...
[00:20:36] **Howard:** the medicine wheel. And what's the walk out here called? I should know this. I have a friend that does the, the, the, they do the walks around the stones.
[00:20:45] **Patrick:** It's a, it's a meditation walk. It, the, they call it a labyrinth- Labyrinth
[00:20:48] **Howard:** That's it.
[00:20:49] **Patrick:** That's it ... but it spirals into the center. Thank you. Don't thank
[00:20:51] **Howard:** me. I couldn't tell you either.
[00:20:52] **Patrick:** A real labyrinth has dead ends and stuff, but this spirals into the center, so it's more of a meditation walk to get grounded.
[00:20:59] **Howard:** [00:21:00] Gotcha.
[00:21:00] **Patrick:** get centered.
[00:21:01] **Howard:** I, but I lo- I've been looking at this as I've been sitting down and looking at the camera, looking at you guys. Mm. I keep looking at this. This is beautiful, by the way. Thank you.
[00:21:08] **Patrick:** Thank you. Beautiful. I s- I see the, the, I use that Fibonacci in a lot of my work, then the stars, but Albert's work, his sculptures have really gotten into my eyes, so I do draw them a lot.
[00:21:20] **Howard:** Excellent. But
[00:21:22] **Patrick:** just b- trying to bring, keep his, his work, we... I think as artists, we sh- we share our gifts, and we get inspired by each other.
[00:21:30] **Howard:** Mm-hmm.
[00:21:30] **Patrick:** And we just take it to different levels, 'cause we all see in different, different,
[00:21:35] **Steve:** levels.
[00:21:35] **Howard:** Yeah,
[00:21:35] **Steve:** we
[00:21:35] **Howard:** all see something different. Yeah. See something very different.
Yes. Excellent. Thank
[00:21:39] **Patrick:** you.
[00:21:39] **Howard:** Thank you for sharing. Mm-hmm. Steve, we'll wait for, Patrick to come up, come on back. If listeners would like to learn more about you, listen to the podcast, check out your socials, check out the books, where are the best places to go?
